Doors and windows are like eyes and eyebrows; halls and inner rooms are also like eyes. Eyebrows are graceful; so likewise walls should curve, encircle, and join. Eyes should not be too prominent; therefore the inner rooms should be spacious and quiet, their emptiness filled with ch'i.
